Mnandi means “delicious” in isiZulu, the language of the Zulu people of South Africa. But that was a bit of a mmmouthful, so we dropped the ‘m’ and called ourselves Nandi.
Nandi expresses both our origin and heritage, and the fact that we make the most delicious looking, smelling and tasting pet treats available. The wild delight experienced by your pet every time you give them a Nandi treat will be all the proof you’ll ever need of the promise in our name.

We say NO to Hormones and Additives
Our source proteins are raised without hormones or routine antibiotics, and we do everything we can to maintain their natural goodness. We never use unnatural preservatives, additives or other potential carcinogens.
We’re Non-GMO Certified
Nandi is certified to maintain the identity and purity of the agricultural commodities we use across production, handling, and marketing. Our facilities segregation and traceability processes ensure that our products are made in a system designed to avoid GMOs.
Our Pet Treats are Hypoallergenic
For pets, an unnatural diet can lead to adverse reactions, like allergies. Nandi pet treats are 100% natural, making them hypoallergenic: ideal for pets with allergies.

We don’t use Grains or Artificial Fillers
Choosing natural foods helps to eliminate empty calories that come from additives and flavorings. By giving your pet Nandi, you can better address their nutritional requirements and help them stay healthy.
We use Human-grade Ingredients with Minimal Processing
We process ingredients as little as possible and only use natural cooking methods. We never mechanically separate or debone meat, and we use real hardwoods when smoking rather than liquid smoke. This ensures our treats keep their natural goodness, taste and have a much denser nutritional profile to better meet the nutritional needs of your pet.
We Support the SPCA
Because we are fully committed to the wellbeing of all animals, Nandi has partnered with the SPCA (the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). The SPCA is an organization that serves to protect all animals, from farm animals to wildlife to domestic pets. Every month, we donate some of our product to local SPCAs, helping the SPCA to give animals in their care the healthiest possible treats. We aim to do more of this as we grow our business and brand, but for now we’re just glad that for every Nandi treat sold we can help animals in need and put real support behind conservation efforts.

We only work with established South African farming families who share our values, who raise animals ethically and sustainably, and who comply with the highest food safety and quality standards. Our raw proteins are by-products of sustainable human systems and are never raised for the sole purpose of making pet treats. By using these by-products, we reduce waste and help to build a more sustainable food system for all.
